Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued filming notices to New Orleans residents in the Marigny neighborhood.
On Tuesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 6, a production company will be filming exterior scenes on the 400-600 blocks of Frenchmen Street between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. As a result, the following streets will be closed:
- The 400-500 blocks of Frenchmen Street between Esplanade Avenue and Chartres Street from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days.
- The 1400-2100 blocks of Decatur Street between Elysian Fields Avenue and Esplanade Avenue from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days.
- The 2100 block of Chartres Street between Frenchmen Street and Elysian Fields Avenue on Tuesday, August 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Law enforcement will be on site to ensure public safety and to help facilitate the work.
Film New Orleans within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2013, New Orleans hosted 60 tax credit film projects (TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000) with direct spending of $456 million.
